Hey guys, welcome to Cloud Village. I hope you're having fun with DEF CON and we are here to serve you guys as a community and help the DEF CON event as well. I know, let me use this time to officially welcome you with the start of Cloud Village. I know the times have been unprecedented. I know things have been, things are changing so fast in recent times. But what we wanted to do with Cloud Village, along with DEF CON, was to be that one constant which is there. We give you that time where you come along with us, we make this thing possible, we make it the way it was last year or even better if we can do it. I know it's virtual, I know all of us are home, but we're trying our best to keep up with the time and make sure some of the constant still stays as constant. Let me take it away from here. In the opening note, I'll help you go through what we are planning, what we have in plans for this year's Cloud Village, how we're going to move forward, how things would look like. Let me take that away. Yes, we went virtual, along with DEF CON, but virtual doesn't mean we backed off. We do have talks like last year, we do have tool demos, we do have workshops, we have CTAs. And the silver lining I see in all of this is we don't have a limit of number of attendees. Last year, I know whoever came down for Cloud Village Space, we did struggle with space, we had limited number of people we could accommodate, and we didn't really try to fix it in this unlimited fashion or not have a limit to the number of attendees. But hey, that's a silver lining. We are glad that we have that this time. So you just got to stream on to our YouTube channel and you get everything. I did see a lot of people asked me about this registration for workshops or not. Let me tell you this, there is no registration again. So as many number of people can chime in, we are ready to serve you for that. The schedule is going to be based on specific time. We wanted to keep it as close as possible to the way it was last year. And this is what it looks like. Our live stream will be happening on YouTube. 7th August, every day we start at 11 a.m PT. The first day goes on with continuous talks and workshop till 16.30. 8th of August goes till 17.30. 9th of August goes till 13.50. And that's when we end our village on the third day. So this is about the talks. About the CTF, our CTF will be continuous 51 hours. It starts at 11 a.m like 7th of August PT. Ends at 12.30 p.m 9th of August. Our winner's announcement would be done at the closing note at 13.30. And I hope you have fun playing the CTF. Online video stream, it's going to be on Cloud Village YouTube channel. One thing we realized with YouTube was, it was a seamless interface for everyone. It's easy, like, it's quick to log in. It's quick to work around with it. It supports low streaming, like, bandwidth as well. Low bandwidth, low internet bandwidth as well. And we wanted to reach out. This is one of the first times where we can reach out to the audience on the entire globe. And we don't want you to feel left out. So we chose the platform which could accommodate everyone without having a lot of dependency on the internet bandwidth you have. For Q&As, yes, we are trying with virtual, we are trying to replicate the physical presence as much as possible. But I know we cannot, like, make it we cannot beat it. We are trying our best. So the Q&As are going to be with the YouTube chat. When you're at the stream, you can feel free to put your questions in. And like any one of us who is moderating the speakers, we'll put your questions forth and we can take it forward from there. For any details you need, you will find that on cloud-village.org. That's the most updated data set we have. Hey, Jayesh. Hello. Yes. It wouldn't be normal if we didn't start off with some issues. Jayesh, could you please share your screen? I just realized that we have people in the chat requesting the screen. All right. We learn as we go. There we go. Thank you. Quickly go through it again. Okay. We've got talks, we've got tool demos, we've got workshops, we've got CTF, silver lining, we don't have a number of attendees. Schedule looks like this. The same can be found on our website. We start on 7th August, 11 a.m., we end at 13.50. Our CTF is going to be, like, 11.50 on ours. It starts at 11 a.m., 7th August, ends on 9th August, like, 12.30. All the timelines are in PT. The winners would be announced at 13.30 on 9th of August. Video stream, YouTube channel, Q&A, you can put your questions on YouTube, chat, and someone from Speaker Ops who is moderating the speakers will pick it up. cloud-village.org is your go-to avenue for seeing any details which we post there. And we will have communication on YouTube, like, on Twitter. CTF Portal, this is our link to our CTF Portal. As of now, last I checked, 10 minutes ago, 10-15 minutes ago, we had more than 100 users registered in. We did have some issues earlier, but we were not expecting that we would get so much love from you guys. And so many registrations popped in as soon as we started. We are on better servers now. The system is up and running. I'm sorry for the downtime we had for a small while. But yeah, the portal is up. Register and start playing. The CTF has started. As of now, you can start. Like, the challenges would be live. You can just go ahead and start playing. For any queries you have, use our Twitter channel. We are there to answer your queries, and we will try our best to do it as soon as possible. Talks and tool demos, we have a common theme for them. For this year, we have 10 talks. We have three tool demos. Both of them are 40 minutes each. Last five minutes of that 40 minutes will be used for Q&A. And five minutes after every talk will be break time. That will be for us to do the logistical work so that your movement towards the new speaker or the new talk is seamless. And we'll make sure that we share the screen this time. Workshops. We have two workshops. Both of them are around two hours each. We have purposefully kept them both as the last sessions on Friday and Saturday, purely because we know workshops, like replicating workshops on a virtual environment is a different task in itself, and especially when we wanted to have no limit of attendees coming in. So, it might go long, yeah, we plan to do it in time, but if it doesn't, hey, you get more interaction with the speaker, you learn more, you understand better. So, I take it as a good thing. Communication channel. Twitter is going to be our official most vigilantly taken care channel. If you have anything, feel free to reach out to us on Twitter, and we will get to your tweet as soon as possible. Sponsors, we would not have been here without the backup we can get from our sponsors, which helps us and run this efficiently, seamlessly, and otherwise logistics and other things just sound like a nightmare. So, thank you for both our sponsors, AWS being our gold sponsors, being our talk sponsor. And let's not forget, DEF CON is not cancelled. We're doing all of this for you guys, for the community, so that everyone stays home, stays safe. There are going to be hiccups. This is the first time we are trying to do this virtual. All we ask is your patience. Just bear with us, and we should be in a better place. And we will learn every day, every moment, and we'll make sure that we make ourselves better with every iteration of talks, demos, or day as we move ahead with the village. At last, thank you, DEF CON, for having us here. Our speakers, this would not have been possible without the talks, the research papers you have submitted. I know we had an overwhelming response for our CFP. I wish we could add all the talks which were there, but yeah, we have some limitations. We'll try our best to add more talks next year, but for this year, this is what it is. Speaker Ops team, you guys are going to take care of all the speakers and attendees having a seamless experience. CTF team, I hope you get some sleep. It's going to be continuous 51 hours, close to 51 hours of rigorous maintenance, logistics things. I know you're going to do a fabulous job with it. Just keep it going. Social media team, you are going to help us interact with our attendees, connect better with the community. Review team, you made our job a bit easier, a bit harder as well in selecting the talks, but a bit easier in terms of navigating across the talks which we had submitted, which we had received. And last but not the least, attendees, we would not be doing all of this if we didn't get the love we got last year, and we expect the same love from you this year as well. And we will, I'm sure we'll make mistakes, but we will learn. I can guarantee you that part.
