1
00:00:05,150 --> 00:00:11,030
Welcome to Space Security Challenge 2020, HackASAT, the final event.

2
00:00:11,250 --> 00:00:19,850
As the democratization of space opens up a new frontier for exploration and innovation, we see new cybersecurity vulnerabilities emerging.

3
00:00:21,110 --> 00:00:32,590
The Space Security Challenge is designed to inspire the world's top cybersecurity talent to develop the skills necessary to secure this last frontier of cybersecurity, space.

4
00:00:32,590 --> 00:00:35,830
And already we've made a ton of progress.

5
00:00:35,830 --> 00:00:37,250
I'll catch you up.

6
00:00:37,470 --> 00:00:46,910
This spring, we hosted over 2,000 teams who worked their way through a set of foundational space cybersecurity challenges in our HackASAT qualification round.

7
00:00:46,930 --> 00:00:51,310
Now, eight finalist teams are stepping up to the ultimate challenge.

8
00:00:51,690 --> 00:00:54,450
They are hacking a satellite.

9
00:01:00,740 --> 00:01:02,100
So welcome.

10
00:01:02,100 --> 00:01:10,500
You have arrived at the Hacker's Den, where you will immerse yourself in the HackASAT contest and learn more about the challenges of cybersecurity in space.

11
00:01:10,500 --> 00:01:12,040
I'll show you around.

12
00:01:12,300 --> 00:01:16,700
No matter where you go in the den, you will see this control panel.

13
00:01:16,720 --> 00:01:28,120
Use it to access the map, control audio, check the scoreboard, see current announcements, view the event schedule, and ask for help.

14
00:01:28,760 --> 00:01:33,800
To enhance your experience, you can also chat and interact with other people in the different rooms.

15
00:01:35,220 --> 00:01:38,520
This is the SOC, the Satellite Ops Center.

16
00:01:38,760 --> 00:01:43,940
Here on the main screen, you can watch the live programming for the event and keep your eye on the scoreboard.

17
00:01:44,540 --> 00:01:46,240
Let's go deeper into the den.

18
00:01:47,100 --> 00:01:53,460
In the chill-out zone, you can kick back, leave a note on the graffiti wall, play games, and check in on social.

19
00:01:55,300 --> 00:01:59,460
Space cybersecurity and hacking are big topics, and there's a lot to learn.

20
00:01:59,480 --> 00:02:03,400
Head to the research room where you'll find resources to expand your knowledge.

21
00:02:05,800 --> 00:02:11,020
When you're ready to immerse yourself in the contest, take the lift up to the roof to reach the Stardome.

22
00:02:11,920 --> 00:02:20,000
At the workbench, you can interact with the contest feeds and learn more about the teams, the contest, and the technology involved.

23
00:02:20,000 --> 00:02:24,360
Over at the telescope, you can check the team's progress and more.

24
00:02:25,360 --> 00:02:32,580
This is also a great place to take a moment to yourself, take a deep breath in the garden, and gaze at the night sky.

25
00:02:35,920 --> 00:02:45,900
Exit the virtual experience with a FastPass to join the DEF CON conversation or enjoy our skill-building aerospace workshops and all the great activities in the Aerospace Village.

26
00:02:47,840 --> 00:02:50,840
Last thing, thanks for joining us.

27
00:02:50,860 --> 00:02:55,080
The future of space security depends on the work we're doing together.
