All right, good morning, everybody, and welcome to Ham Radio Village at DEF CON Safe Mode.
My name is Eric, AI0J. I'm one of the village leads for Ham Radio Village, and we are very
excited to be back here at Safe Mode. Last year was our first year as a village at DEF CON,
and at the end of DEF CON last year, we said to ourselves, well, at least next year will be
easier. We'll know what's going on. We were pretty wrong about that, obviously, with everything that
happened over the last six months. But, you know, Ham Radio is all about overcoming adversary and
communicating in adverse conditions. And so here we are at Safe Mode. So before we get started,
first, I'd like to thank all of the Ham Radio Village staff. We have a whole bunch of people
on staff, a whole bunch of people giving talks and presentations this weekend. And without all
of their participation and help, we would not have a village. So thank you. Just some quick things.
The website is hamvillage.org. And on there, you can find the complete schedule of all our talks
and presentations, as well as all information about the various channels we have on the DEF CON
Discord server. We've already seen a bunch of activity in those channels, especially around
exams. So absolutely hop on there, ask us questions, just hang out, chat, have a good time.
We'll be posting updates throughout the con at Twitter, at Ham Radio Village. So stay tuned
to that for important schedule changes, updates, as well as information about our special event
call sign, K3K. All the talks will, of course, be presented here on twitch.tv slash ham radio
village. So they'll be open for everyone and they will be uploaded after the con.
So if you do miss them live, it's okay. You'll get them on recording.
As I mentioned a minute ago, we have call sign event station K3K, which has been working already
since Thursday. Various modes, various bands. So hopefully you can get to work at that station if
you get on air. And we may even have a special QSL card for you if you work us. So yeah,
so really that's about all I got. I hope everyone has a great time during DEF CON safe mode. Hope
