680	7440	All right, good morning, everybody, and welcome to Ham Radio Village at DEF CON Safe Mode.
7980	13660	My name is Eric, AI0J. I'm one of the village leads for Ham Radio Village, and we are very
13660	19200	excited to be back here at Safe Mode. Last year was our first year as a village at DEF CON,
19200	23880	and at the end of DEF CON last year, we said to ourselves, well, at least next year will be
23880	28820	easier. We'll know what's going on. We were pretty wrong about that, obviously, with everything that
28820	34340	happened over the last six months. But, you know, Ham Radio is all about overcoming adversary and
34340	41500	communicating in adverse conditions. And so here we are at Safe Mode. So before we get started,
41500	45900	first, I'd like to thank all of the Ham Radio Village staff. We have a whole bunch of people
45900	50840	on staff, a whole bunch of people giving talks and presentations this weekend. And without all
50840	57020	of their participation and help, we would not have a village. So thank you. Just some quick things.
57020	63480	The website is hamvillage.org. And on there, you can find the complete schedule of all our talks
63480	68020	and presentations, as well as all information about the various channels we have on the DEF CON
68020	72060	Discord server. We've already seen a bunch of activity in those channels, especially around
72060	77800	exams. So absolutely hop on there, ask us questions, just hang out, chat, have a good time.
78100	84760	We'll be posting updates throughout the con at Twitter, at Ham Radio Village. So stay tuned
84760	89760	to that for important schedule changes, updates, as well as information about our special event
89760	96560	call sign, K3K. All the talks will, of course, be presented here on twitch.tv slash ham radio
96560	101780	village. So they'll be open for everyone and they will be uploaded after the con.
101860	105340	So if you do miss them live, it's okay. You'll get them on recording.
105900	112480	As I mentioned a minute ago, we have call sign event station K3K, which has been working already
112480	118420	since Thursday. Various modes, various bands. So hopefully you can get to work at that station if
118420	125960	you get on air. And we may even have a special QSL card for you if you work us. So yeah,
125960	130360	so really that's about all I got. I hope everyone has a great time during DEF CON safe mode. Hope
130360	134220	they enjoy our village, as well as all the other villages. Everybody has worked really
134220	139700	hard over the past few months to put this together and to make it a success. Thanks!
