1
00:00:02,730 --> 00:00:12,710
So Dark Tangent, who runs all of DEF CON, says that it's an hour and a half until the closing ceremonies of DEF CON.

2
00:00:13,690 --> 00:00:21,490
With the conclusion of Ruben's speech, that's the end of the content that we have planned for the Monero Village.

3
00:00:21,490 --> 00:00:23,150
So thank you very much, Ruben.

4
00:00:23,150 --> 00:00:25,590
Let's give him a digital round of applause.

5
00:00:27,570 --> 00:00:31,010
You're done.

6
00:00:31,010 --> 00:00:32,550
You had your chance.

7
00:00:34,250 --> 00:00:35,530
See you guys.

8
00:00:38,390 --> 00:00:41,770
Now you're just left with me once more.

9
00:00:41,770 --> 00:00:42,630
It's just you and me.

10
00:00:42,630 --> 00:00:53,450
Whereas before, if you ever went to the physical DEF CON, it was me up on a stage shouting about how things went well and how we were proud of everything that happened to bring us all together.

11
00:00:54,930 --> 00:00:57,490
Now I don't have to be on a stage.

12
00:00:57,910 --> 00:01:10,230
Now I can look you in the digital eye and it's just like you and me alone, together, having a chat face-to-face on the same level.

13
00:01:11,790 --> 00:01:15,330
If this is creepy to you, just let it sink in.

14
00:01:15,330 --> 00:01:16,310
Let it be.

15
00:01:17,290 --> 00:01:18,970
It doesn't have to be weird.

16
00:01:19,110 --> 00:01:21,610
No, but for real, this was a lot of work.

17
00:01:21,610 --> 00:01:24,470
Monero Village was a lot of work for a lot of people.

18
00:01:25,430 --> 00:01:27,910
It was new to everybody.

19
00:01:27,910 --> 00:01:29,730
It was brand new to everybody.

20
00:01:29,890 --> 00:01:31,450
All of DEF CON was digital.

21
00:01:31,450 --> 00:01:38,650
And I think that was definitely something that last year, nobody was expecting for sure.

22
00:01:39,490 --> 00:01:44,590
And kind of leading up to this whole event, especially after we knew, okay, this was digital, we are invited back.

23
00:01:44,590 --> 00:01:46,230
What does this mean for us?

24
00:01:46,230 --> 00:01:58,850
There was a lot of people that kind of stood up to the plate, whatever, I'm mangling that phrase, stepped up to the plate and decided to pitch in and try to make this kind of thing happen.

25
00:01:58,850 --> 00:02:11,190
So we definitely want to thank AJS and SGP, who took a bulk of the responsibility for the stream that you guys have been seeing for the past three days.

26
00:02:11,330 --> 00:02:17,570
You know, getting it to work with the Jitsi, with OBS, with streaming simultaneously to YouTube and to Twitch.

27
00:02:18,770 --> 00:02:21,330
Big round of applause to them.

28
00:02:21,330 --> 00:02:22,790
That was invaluable.

29
00:02:22,790 --> 00:02:27,370
You know, we have people like Scott, who was working with the scheduling.

30
00:02:27,370 --> 00:02:34,250
Michael, who was pretty much everywhere, his fingers in everything, and working with the hardware badges and stuff for you guys.

31
00:02:34,450 --> 00:02:36,910
This was a lot of work for a lot of people.

32
00:02:36,910 --> 00:02:47,410
So from the bottom of my heart, especially, but I know definitely our users and watchers who appreciate the content, they give you all kudos.

33
00:02:47,890 --> 00:02:57,570
And really, really mad applause to DEF CON also for sticking with it, despite the fact, like, okay, brand new thing, brand new format, brand new everything.

34
00:02:57,570 --> 00:03:00,850
We're still gonna do the best we can to make a good conference.

35
00:03:00,850 --> 00:03:03,730
And I think, I don't know, I've had fun these past few days.

36
00:03:03,730 --> 00:03:05,550
It's been new experience.

37
00:03:06,070 --> 00:03:07,330
But I had fun.

38
00:03:07,330 --> 00:03:09,210
And I hope everybody else has had fun as well.

39
00:03:11,010 --> 00:03:16,530
We will be... the previous days are now up on YouTube.

40
00:03:16,530 --> 00:03:19,170
I know we were having some issues with the Friday stream.

41
00:03:20,450 --> 00:03:23,170
Only, like, the last two hours were there for a while.

42
00:03:23,170 --> 00:03:25,630
But it should all be up there now.

43
00:03:25,630 --> 00:03:29,010
And all of this is gonna be here for forever.

44
00:03:29,010 --> 00:03:32,670
For everybody to see on the Monero community workgroup channel.

45
00:03:32,670 --> 00:03:35,310
And I think DEF CON is gonna have the videos as well.

46
00:03:35,630 --> 00:03:50,990
For the ones that didn't quite go as planned, for example, my workshop in which I was doing sending, receiving, and proving transactions in the Monero wallet, the stuff was very small and hard to see.

47
00:03:51,010 --> 00:03:53,030
So, I will be rerecording that.

48
00:03:53,030 --> 00:04:01,670
For a lot of the things that didn't quite go as planned, we'll try to rerecord those and get those up and label them as kind of a DEF CON talk.

49
00:04:02,350 --> 00:04:04,730
So, be on the lookout for those.

50
00:04:04,730 --> 00:04:09,550
And we do apologize for the things here and there that, you know, the little niggles that didn't exactly go as planned.

51
00:04:09,550 --> 00:04:13,270
But I think overall everything went okay.

52
00:04:13,470 --> 00:04:16,230
So, yeah.

53
00:04:16,450 --> 00:04:21,610
One last time, just because... just because I say it all the time.

54
00:04:21,610 --> 00:04:28,750
Go to really cool design that we made for the stuff because it's gonna be scrapped.

55
00:04:28,750 --> 00:04:30,510
And next year, I'm gonna have something new.

56
00:04:31,290 --> 00:04:39,350
And in an hour and a half, we're gonna have the closing ceremony for DEF CON as a whole, which is gonna be taking place at twitch.tv slash DEF CON org.

57
00:04:41,130 --> 00:04:45,030
So, be sure to check that out.

58
00:04:46,430 --> 00:04:53,930
Send Justin and AJS and the DEF CON people and the goons and stuff a whole bunch of applause and tell them thank you so much.

59
00:04:54,630 --> 00:04:55,830
I definitely do.

60
00:04:56,150 --> 00:04:57,990
I'm not gonna go on for half an hour.

61
00:04:58,110 --> 00:05:00,170
I'm gonna go ahead and cut it here.

62
00:05:00,690 --> 00:05:02,230
Monero Village is done, guys.

63
00:05:02,250 --> 00:05:04,550
We made it happen.

64
00:05:04,570 --> 00:05:05,830
Congratulations to everybody.

65
00:05:05,830 --> 00:05:06,990
Thank you so much to everybody.

66
00:05:06,990 --> 00:05:10,690
Thank you to all of our people watching both now and in the future.

67
00:05:10,690 --> 00:05:16,270
I see you 2021 person that's watching this March 3rd 2021.

68
00:05:16,270 --> 00:05:17,330
Maybe your name is Andrew.

69
00:05:17,330 --> 00:05:17,990
Who knows?

70
00:05:18,030 --> 00:05:18,990
But I see you.

71
00:05:18,990 --> 00:05:21,070
And you're definitely valid.

72
00:05:21,070 --> 00:05:21,950
You're a good person.

73
00:05:22,450 --> 00:05:23,490
Thank you, everybody.

74
00:05:23,690 --> 00:05:24,730
It's been a blast.

75
00:05:24,730 --> 00:05:25,410
We'll catch you later.

76
00:05:25,410 --> 00:05:33,350
We'll still be on in the Discord if you want to talk with us for a little bit until the closing ceremony is done.

77
00:05:34,030 --> 00:05:34,670
Bye!
