So Dark Tangent, who runs all of DEF CON, says that it's an hour and a half until the closing
ceremonies of DEF CON. With the conclusion of Ruben's speech, that's the end of the content
that we have planned for the Monero Village. So thank you very much, Ruben. Let's give him
a digital round of applause. You're done. You had your chance.
See you guys.
Now you're just left with me once more. It's just you and me. Whereas before,
if you ever went to the physical DEF CON, it was me up on a stage shouting about how
things went well and how we were proud of everything that happened to bring us all together.
Now I don't have to be on a stage. Now I can look you in the digital eye and it's just like you and
me alone, together, having a chat face-to-face on the same level. If this is creepy to you, just
let it sink in. Let it be. It doesn't have to be weird. No, but for real, this was a lot of work.
Monero Village was a lot of work for a lot of people. It was new to everybody. It was brand
new to everybody. All of DEF CON was digital. And I think that was definitely something that
last year, nobody was expecting for sure. And kind of leading up to this whole event,
especially after we knew, okay, this was digital, we are invited back.
What does this mean for us? There was a lot of people that kind of
stood up to the plate, whatever, I'm mangling that phrase, stepped up to the plate and decided
to pitch in and try to make this kind of thing happen. So we definitely want to thank AJS and
SGP, who took a bulk of the responsibility for the stream that you guys have been seeing for the past
three days. You know, getting it to work with the Jitsi, with OBS, with streaming simultaneously to
YouTube and to Twitch. Big round of applause to them. That was invaluable. You know, we have
people like Scott, who was working with the scheduling. Michael, who was pretty much everywhere,
his fingers in everything, and working with the hardware badges and stuff for you guys.
This was a lot of work for a lot of people. So from the bottom of my heart, especially, but I
know definitely our users and watchers who appreciate the content, they give you all
kudos. And really, really mad applause to DEF CON also for sticking with it, despite the fact, like,
okay, brand new thing, brand new format, brand new everything. We're still gonna do the best we can
to make a good conference. And I think, I don't know, I've had fun these past few days. It's been
new experience. But I had fun. And I hope everybody else has had fun as well.
We will be... the previous days are now up on YouTube. I know we were having some issues with
the Friday stream. Only, like, the last two hours were there for a while. But it should all be up
there now. And all of this is gonna be here for forever. For everybody to see on the Monero
community workgroup channel. And I think DEF CON is gonna have the videos as well. For the ones that
didn't quite go as planned, for example, my workshop in which I was doing sending, receiving,
and proving transactions in the Monero wallet, the stuff was very small and hard to see. So,
I will be rerecording that. For a lot of the things that didn't quite go as planned, we'll
try to rerecord those and get those up and label them as kind of a DEF CON talk.
So, be on the lookout for those. And we do apologize for the things here and there that,
you know, the little niggles that didn't exactly go as planned. But I think overall everything went
okay. So, yeah. One last time, just because... just because I say it all the time. Go to
really cool design that we made for the stuff because it's gonna be scrapped. And next year,
I'm gonna have something new. And in an hour and a half, we're gonna have the closing ceremony for
DEF CON as a whole, which is gonna be taking place at twitch.tv slash DEF CON org. So, be sure to
check that out. Send Justin and AJS and the DEF CON people and the goons and stuff a whole bunch
of applause and tell them thank you so much. I definitely do. I'm not gonna go on for half an
hour. I'm gonna go ahead and cut it here. Monero Village is done, guys. We made it happen.
Congratulations to everybody. Thank you so much to everybody. Thank you to all of our people
watching both now and in the future. I see you 2021 person that's watching this March 3rd 2021.
Maybe your name is Andrew. Who knows? But I see you. And you're definitely valid. You're a good
person. Thank you, everybody. It's been a blast. We'll catch you later. We'll still be on in the
Discord if you want to talk with us for a little bit until the closing ceremony is done. Bye!
