Welcome to DEF CON 28. It's not in Las Vegas anymore. It is online. It's digital. It's
free for everybody to take a look at all the content that we're going to have. So that's
fantastic. I, for one, am okay with having a break from Las Vegas for a year. But there
is a ton, an absolute ton of things to do at DEF CON, not just at the Monero Village,
but kind of just in general. So go to DEF CON.org and go through their schedule. There's
so much stuff, guys. A lot of people have worked really hard to make a, I wouldn't say
a similar experience, but a good experience for everybody in the digital way. So in case
you didn't know, DEF CON has a Discord that you can join, and a whole bunch of the villages
are there, like the Packet Hacking Village, AI Village, Red Team Village, Blue Team Village.
There's a ton of villages on there. Please go check all that stuff out. And we've got
our own place. We've got our own village. So hop on to the DEF CON Discord. If you go
to MoneroVillage.org, MoneroVillage.org, you will see our schedule, right? We have things
over the next three days that are going to be taking place from workshops to talks and
all sorts of different things. The schedule will be updated because we got some last-minute
speakers. So that schedule is going to be updated. So be keeping an eye on it every,
you know, in fact, just refresh it every five seconds of your life this next weekend. Just
go ahead and refresh and see what happens. Okay. I'm getting the word that the Twitch
is now up also. So absolutely fantastic. We're just thrilled to have Twitch with us. So MoneroVillage.org
is where you're going to find all of our things. So I'm actually just going to very briefly
take a quick look at what we got scheduled for today. Right after me is going to be Dr.
Daniel Kim. He's going to be giving our keynote. Going to be talking about Monero. And I'm
going to... I'm not going to spoil anything. I'm just going to let that sit there. You're
going to want to see him. He does some fantastic work. He's a great speaker. And he really,
really drives the point home of what Monero is and what it does and why it's important.
Coming up after that, we've got Artic Mine, who's going to be talking with us about the
title is Proposed Mitigation Measures to Address a Disruption, such as the Economic Impact
of COVID-19 on Transaction Capacity and Fees in Monero. Michael, after that, is going to
be talking about the InterVillage badge, which if you didn't know, there is a badge page
on MoneroVillage.org as well, with some websites that you can go to purchase the badge if you
were interested in that. And then I will be running a workshop about the Monero Wallet
Basics. So this is definitely one to get your friends into if they're like, oh, yeah, I
like Monero, but I don't really know how to use it or how all of it works. I'm going to
be running through the wallet software. How do I send something? How do I receive something?
How do I prove that I made a transaction? So just kind of the wallet basics. That's
something you're going to want to take a look at and get your friends and family on board.
And then to finish off this day, we've got a meme competition led by JustinSGP. So if you
are a memer, if you are internet savvy, if you got any sort of design skills, or even if you
have no design skills, then by all means, come join us for that. So MoneroVillage.org is where
we're going to find all of these things. We've got the schedule going on there. We are streaming
both on Twitch and YouTube. So find something that is comfortable for you, something that you
like. And once again, DEF CON itself has a ton of extra other content. So please be sure to check
those things out. Because there's going to be a lot of good stuff. I'm actually trying to...
because I'm not running a physical village this year, I can kind of sneak off and maybe watch a
few things at the same time and abandon you Monero nerds. But yeah, that's basically it.
If you recall, in previous years, they gave me like an hour and 30 minutes to do this kind of
thing. And that was way too much. And I see that even now, 10 minutes is kind of a lot,
because I still got four minutes to go. But I'm not going to bore you guys with more of me.
We're going to want to get to the real deal. We're going to want to get to Dr. Daniel Kim.
So I'm going to pass it off to him a bit prematurely. And maybe he can use this
a little bit extra time to kind of talk about his credentials. Because they're pretty big,
they're pretty cool. He's kind of the big shot on campus everywhere he goes.
So welcome. Welcome one more time. DEF CON 28, online, digital, free for everybody to take a
look at. I love you guys. Glad that you're all here. Thanks for joining us.
