0	7800	Welcome to DEF CON 28. It's not in Las Vegas anymore. It is online. It's digital. It's
7800	12140	free for everybody to take a look at all the content that we're going to have. So that's
12140	20440	fantastic. I, for one, am okay with having a break from Las Vegas for a year. But there
20440	25740	is a ton, an absolute ton of things to do at DEF CON, not just at the Monero Village,
25740	32560	but kind of just in general. So go to DEF CON.org and go through their schedule. There's
32560	39360	so much stuff, guys. A lot of people have worked really hard to make a, I wouldn't say
39540	45560	a similar experience, but a good experience for everybody in the digital way. So in case
45560	49720	you didn't know, DEF CON has a Discord that you can join, and a whole bunch of the villages
49720	53980	are there, like the Packet Hacking Village, AI Village, Red Team Village, Blue Team Village.
53980	57740	There's a ton of villages on there. Please go check all that stuff out. And we've got
57740	65060	our own place. We've got our own village. So hop on to the DEF CON Discord. If you go
65060	72740	to MoneroVillage.org, MoneroVillage.org, you will see our schedule, right? We have things
72740	78440	over the next three days that are going to be taking place from workshops to talks and
78440	83680	all sorts of different things. The schedule will be updated because we got some last-minute
83680	90680	speakers. So that schedule is going to be updated. So be keeping an eye on it every,
90680	94920	you know, in fact, just refresh it every five seconds of your life this next weekend. Just
94920	99800	go ahead and refresh and see what happens. Okay. I'm getting the word that the Twitch
99800	106500	is now up also. So absolutely fantastic. We're just thrilled to have Twitch with us. So MoneroVillage.org
107360	112220	is where you're going to find all of our things. So I'm actually just going to very briefly
112220	119020	take a quick look at what we got scheduled for today. Right after me is going to be Dr.
119020	125100	Daniel Kim. He's going to be giving our keynote. Going to be talking about Monero. And I'm
125100	129180	going to... I'm not going to spoil anything. I'm just going to let that sit there. You're
129180	134540	going to want to see him. He does some fantastic work. He's a great speaker. And he really,
134540	138460	really drives the point home of what Monero is and what it does and why it's important.
139160	145680	Coming up after that, we've got Artic Mine, who's going to be talking with us about the
145680	150140	title is Proposed Mitigation Measures to Address a Disruption, such as the Economic Impact
150140	156060	of COVID-19 on Transaction Capacity and Fees in Monero. Michael, after that, is going to
156060	161440	be talking about the InterVillage badge, which if you didn't know, there is a badge page
161440	166260	on MoneroVillage.org as well, with some websites that you can go to purchase the badge if you
166260	171500	were interested in that. And then I will be running a workshop about the Monero Wallet
171500	176040	Basics. So this is definitely one to get your friends into if they're like, oh, yeah, I
176040	181220	like Monero, but I don't really know how to use it or how all of it works. I'm going to
181220	186000	be running through the wallet software. How do I send something? How do I receive something?
186000	190280	How do I prove that I made a transaction? So just kind of the wallet basics. That's
190280	194220	something you're going to want to take a look at and get your friends and family on board.
194840	202500	And then to finish off this day, we've got a meme competition led by JustinSGP. So if you
202500	207920	are a memer, if you are internet savvy, if you got any sort of design skills, or even if you
207920	212780	have no design skills, then by all means, come join us for that. So MoneroVillage.org is where
212780	217160	we're going to find all of these things. We've got the schedule going on there. We are streaming
217160	221820	both on Twitch and YouTube. So find something that is comfortable for you, something that you
221820	229460	like. And once again, DEF CON itself has a ton of extra other content. So please be sure to check
229460	235120	those things out. Because there's going to be a lot of good stuff. I'm actually trying to...
236300	241120	because I'm not running a physical village this year, I can kind of sneak off and maybe watch a
241120	247620	few things at the same time and abandon you Monero nerds. But yeah, that's basically it.
248040	252200	If you recall, in previous years, they gave me like an hour and 30 minutes to do this kind of
252200	256680	thing. And that was way too much. And I see that even now, 10 minutes is kind of a lot,
256680	262640	because I still got four minutes to go. But I'm not going to bore you guys with more of me.
263580	267220	We're going to want to get to the real deal. We're going to want to get to Dr. Daniel Kim.
267260	275740	So I'm going to pass it off to him a bit prematurely. And maybe he can use this
275940	279700	a little bit extra time to kind of talk about his credentials. Because they're pretty big,
279700	282880	they're pretty cool. He's kind of the big shot on campus everywhere he goes.
283300	289820	So welcome. Welcome one more time. DEF CON 28, online, digital, free for everybody to take a
289820	295760	look at. I love you guys. Glad that you're all here. Thanks for joining us.
