[00:13.160 --> 00:16.940] Hey everybody, my name is Steve Lozinski and I am the board chairman for the Aerospace [00:16.940 --> 00:22.300] Village and I am proud on behalf of all of our volunteers from around the world to welcome [00:22.300 --> 00:28.800] you to the Aerospace Village at DEF CON 31. Our volunteers come together from all walks [00:28.800 --> 00:35.980] of life, young, old, experienced, inexperienced. We've got students, we've got security researchers, [00:35.980 --> 00:41.660] pilots from the military, current civil aviation pilots, you name it, they are a part of this [00:41.660 --> 00:46.960] group of volunteers who give their time to support the Aerospace Village. Our mission, [00:46.960 --> 00:54.700] very simple, is build, inspire, promote. Our goal is to build relationships between government, [00:54.700 --> 00:59.760] industry and security researchers, the hackers you're going to see at DEF CON. We want those [00:59.760 --> 01:04.100] folks to come together because they're all working towards the same goal and have the [01:04.100 --> 01:10.520] conversation about ensuring the safety and security of aviation and space systems because [01:10.520 --> 01:15.720] that's what we rely on in our daily lives. Another part of our mission is inspiring the [01:15.720 --> 01:20.500] next generation of cybersecurity leaders. We want folks to come in and learn. We want [01:20.500 --> 01:25.000] them to get hands-on with this expensive equipment and learn from the experts that [01:25.000 --> 01:29.420] we're able to bring together. And ultimately, it's to promote all the great work that's [01:29.420 --> 01:34.340] going on out there. The researchers behind the scenes, the folks that are keeping these [01:34.340 --> 01:39.600] systems secure, we want people to know what's going on so they can continue to trust these [01:39.600 --> 01:44.760] very critical systems. We do a lot of work with DEF CON, of course. That's our premier [01:44.760 --> 01:49.520] event. We're happy to come in. This is our fifth anniversary of supporting DEF CON. But [01:49.520 --> 01:55.660] we also do work with other events, business events like RSA, associations like AIAA. We [01:55.660 --> 02:00.360] also support other hacker conferences. We like to get out there and be able to expose [02:00.360 --> 02:06.060] our audience to the different facets of what we bring to them. At DEF CON, please come [02:06.060 --> 02:11.240] by and join us in the Aerospace Village. And what you're going to see is a variety of activities [02:11.240 --> 02:17.500] and demonstrations and speakers. The activities are going to range from a crawl, walk, run [02:17.500 --> 02:22.120] approach that we take. So if you've never done anything technical before, we want you [02:22.120 --> 02:25.560] to come in. We want you to get hands-on and learn about them. If you're advanced and you [02:25.560 --> 02:29.960] know how to do all this stuff, even better because we have that for you too. We have [02:29.960 --> 02:34.880] partners that we're bringing in from United Airlines, from Alaskan Airlines. We're also [02:34.880 --> 02:40.140] bringing in Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Pentest partners [02:40.140 --> 02:45.440] to have all of that hands-on content, the activities and demonstrations that we like [02:45.440 --> 02:50.280] to bring to our audience each year. And also along with that, we have speakers, a variety [02:50.280 --> 02:54.900] of speakers from different technical topics, all the way to the Office of the National [02:54.900 --> 02:59.300] Cyber Director folks talking about policy side of things that you may want to focus [02:59.300 --> 03:05.320] on. And then other speakers like the TSA Administrator is coming in to talk with us. So again, we [03:05.320 --> 03:10.060] invite you to come join us. We've got a ton of activities. It's our fifth anniversary. [03:10.060 --> 03:13.100] So we're very excited to be back at DEF CON.
