The book — "The Programme Is the Compliance: Regulatory-Environment Operational Discipline in the Post-NIS2-and-Post-DORA Era" — publishes today. Hardcover and ebook through the same UK technical-publishing house that produced the 2019, 2021, 2022, and 2024 books. The launch event tonight is at the same Bristol venue that hosted the 2024 February launch, with a comparable invitee-list of customers, partners, and security-community contacts.
The substantive content of the book. Post-NIS2 and post-DORA operational discipline as the customer-organisation programme work has produced it through 2024-2026. The broader regulatory-environment progression including the EU AI Act and the UK Cyber Resilience Act. The customer-organisation strategic frame for thinking about regulatory-environment-as-a-discipline rather than as administrative burden. The case-study material is anonymised across the customer portfolio with the operational lessons drawn from the actual programme-work that the customer engagements have produced.
Five books in the series across seven years. The 2019 first book on detection-engineering-against-modern-adversaries. The 2021 second book on supply-chain-security-after-SolarWinds-and-Log4Shell. The 2022 third book on supply-chain-as-customer-organisation-programme. The 2024 fourth book on language-model-environment-and-the-SOC. The 2026 fifth book on regulatory-environment-as-discipline. The series has been, on the cumulative-content measure, an attempt to write down the customer-organisation programme work as it has developed through this period of substantial cyber-defensive-discipline maturation.
The launch event tonight is the principal personal-strategic event of H1 2026. The wife and the children are coming up for the event. The team has organised the after-event small dinner.
I will return to writing about the book's reception as the launch programme progresses through Q2. Tonight is for the event, the team, and the customers who have been part of the work.
