Honeyd v0.7 has shipped. The improvements over the version I deployed in 2001 are substantial.
What is new
- Better OS-fingerprint emulation matching nmap's latest signatures.
- More personas (Cisco, BSD variants, embedded systems).
- Better integration with high-interaction backends.
- Improved logging.
For my own deployment, I will upgrade in the next maintenance window. The capabilities make better deception possible.
