Bristol Beaufighter.
Remains of a British Bristol Beaufighter shot down in 1944. It came down about half a mile offshore; in the 1960s local men dragged it into shallower water and dynamited it for scrap, but many pieces remain on the seabed. The centre rates it Open Water level.

How it got there.
Shot down by German forces in 1944. The navigator, Flight Sergeant Shaw, was killed; the pilot, Flight Sergeant Yorke, swam ashore and was captured. In the 1960s the wreck was dragged closer to shore and dynamited for scrap. The centre says British authorities authorised it in 1999 to dive the wreck and recover delicate pieces, which are now displayed in the dive centre's museum.
